Legendary Audi performance is at the heart of the 2022 Audi e-tron GT and its RS sibling.

Says Audi: “Progress, craftsmanship, and a passion for high performance come together in the 2022 Audi e-tron GT and its RS counterpart, Audi’s fully electric grand touring models. Legendary Audi performance is at the heart of the e-tron GT and its RS sibling. Both models feature exhilarating launch control, boosting the power to achieve up to 522 HP on the e-tron GT, and 637 HP on the RS model2, putting extraordinary power at your fingertips.”

The 2022 Audi e-tron GT is the brand's all-new electric luxury sport sedan. Unlike the e-tron, the e-tron GT makes performance and driving dynamics this car’s priority. The EV reaches 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, though that’s not the best in its class.

Reviewers praise its incredible road comfort. Says edmunds.com reviewer Reese Counts: “Audi is a master of blending high performance with incredible road comfort. Even with its large 20-inch wheels and summer tires, the e-tron GT somehow manages to have a perfect ride that is both supple and responsive. The adaptive suspension softens up to absorb all manner of pavement bumps but not to the point of feeling wallowy over undulating sections of highway. The e-tron GT does a commendable job of filtering out all other ambient noise too. The front seats are about as good as it gets, with highly supportive and adjustable sport buckets that include heating, cooling and massaging functions. The rear seats are mostly unremarkable, and the car's high floor relative to the rear seats means that long-legged individuals won't be very comfortable. On the upside, the e-tron GT's climate controls are easy to use, and the system delivers ample cooling to keep the cabin at your desired temperature.”

The base model e-Tron GT uses 2 electric motors and a 93kWh Battery to generate 522 HP, while the RS version generates 637 HP. An innovative 2-speed transmission with a first gear for launches and a second top gear for optimal efficiency translates e-power into stunning speed.

Caranddriver.com reviewer Eric Staffor says: “The 2022 Audi e-tron GT is a bold-looking electric car with deep engineering ties to the Porsche Taycan. In fact, the two slinky four-door gran turismos were developed alongside each other and share a cutting-edge 800-volt propulsion architecture that allows faster charging and helps ensure performance stays consistent. Aiding the e-tron GT's dual electric motors, which produce between 522 and 637 horsepower depending upon the model, is an innovative two-speed transmission that enables breathtaking take-offs. The Audi stands out from the Porsche with its more chiseled bodywork and busier front end. Inside, the e-tron is equally elegant and technologically advanced, with a selection of handsome materials and high-tech features. Although the 2022 e-tron GT is arguably just a rebodied Taycan, it's yet another desirable alternative to the popular Tesla Model S.”

EPA-estimated Combined/City/Highway is 81/79/82 MPGe.

The eTron Gt cabin uses multiple digital displays on an angular dashboard with plenty of upscale trim. Audi offers both a leather interior with different color options, as well as a leather-free package which employs recycled materials. The central touchscreen measures 10.1 inches and works with steering-wheel-mounted controls and voice-recognition software. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits to its left. Along with a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, the e-tron GT is available with wireless charging and a powerful 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Standard 14-way power-adjustable sport seats are wrapped in Dinamica and leatherette.

The car’s captivating and sleek exterior, combined with and eco-friendly interior crammed with high tech, receive high points. The EV’s two negatives are its low electric range of only 238 miles and a price that’s higher than comparable Tesla models.
